Hi! My name is D! You may also know me as Demetri/Vysetron/Dirt McGirt. I like games and write about them a lot!

This site is intended to be an oasis from the contemporary Games Industry Hellscape. Not in a “da games were better when I didn’t pay bills!” kinda way, as much as an “I think it’s nice when games are a bit simpler and don’t constantly make grabby hands at my wallet or attention” kinda way. Just a lean blog, no AI garbo, only Game Boy. More details on the why of this whole endeavor on this page.

Most of these games are being played on an Analogue Pocket. I have other devices/software that work including OEM units and may use them game-depending, but I typically prefer the dedicated device with the super nice screen.

My cowriter Kyle and I live over at Pixel Die. The main focus is modern indie games, because indies are where the actual experimentation happens. We play some older games there too!

I’ve eliminated most of my social media but I do have a Bsky that I’m trying to use less.

I technically have a YouTube but it has nothing to do with video games. Lately it’s all been about Netrunner, which is an excellent card game that I’ve played for a decade-ish. If I make a YT for this site at some point you’ll be the first to know.
